Ormond Beach Auto Repair

I had some lights come on my Cadillac SRX and they had such great reviews that I took it in to find the problem. I don't know if it's because I was a woman there by myself or what but they were anything but "Honest". They told me my brake fluid was low because there was a leak, which was the only truthful thing about any of it. They said I needed all new calipers, rotors, brake pads, and hoses in the back. They told me the rotors were so rusty that the hose wasn't sitting correctly causing the leak and that said hose was warped and cracked. They quoted $1400 for the repair. They told me "it's a Cadillac so parts are more expensive". They also told me that the pads were almost to the squealers and the front brakes should be replaced soon as well. After speaking with my husband he said there's no way repairing the back brakes should cost $1400 so we quoted the price of the parts we'd need and it was almost 1/2 of what they said the parts cost. My husband ended up fixing it with the help of some work friends and only needed to change the rotors and pads. The calipers were fine and the existing hose just needed to be reseated. Plus he said the pads were practically new, not worn to almost squealing like they told me. We're keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't start leaking again, but will probably be returning the calipers and hoses we bought as it doesn't appear to need them. Tldr; if you're a woman DO NOT GO HERE BECAUSE THEY WILL LIE AND GROSSLY OVERCHARGE YOU.

I have been going to Honest-1 for the past year for basic maintenance. The entire staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. They're second to none when it comes to communication. From making the appointment to keeping you informed during the work. At my last visit it was determined that I needed a new alternator. Two months later the new alternator needed to be replaced. Wow- what a great place! We're from North Dakota and had some brake issues with my Jeep- grinding noise and what I thought was a brake fluid leak. I read some reviews online and they seemed reputable, so I made an appointment. From the minute I walked in the door I felt at ease. Bright clean shop and Jeff greeted me as soon as I came through the door. I waited while they diagnosed it. Breaks needed replacing but the fluid leak was a leaky axle seal. They brought me back in the shop and showed me exactly what the issues were. Jeff gave me a fair estimate and Liz shuttled me back to my RV. They send you pictures of everything that is right with your vehicle as well as things that you want to pay attention to. No high pressure to proceed- it's all your decision. There is a 3 year, 36K mile warranty on all repairs and 5% of the non-taxable total goes back on your account to use on future visits! How do you beat that? Great, honest people, fair prices and great customer service! We're moving to Daytona Beach next spring and Honest 1 has earned a new loyal customer. Take you vehicle here with great peace of mind..

Found this place by accident. My car started making a terrible noise and I pulled off to check it out and found myself in the Honest 1 parking lot. I can't say enough about the great staff. Jeff, Chuck,Stephen &Jay, made us feel so comfortable and were able to diagnose the problem within an hour(caliper bolt missing) The staff went over and above my expectations I now found my new mechanic and made an appointment on the spot for an oil change next week. I will not hesitate to recommend Honest 1 to all my friends that live in Margaritaville.

First time customer and very pleased! Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Explained everything to me before fixing my car’s A/C and great communication during process. I felt that they were honest and very fair with charges. I think that I have finally found my new car repair shop!

My wife and I were on a Feb 2022 Florida visit and encountered a brake issue while staying in Ormond Beach FL. We used AAA to locate local repair shops and we count ourselves lucky when we found the folks at Honest1 Auto Care - Ormond Beach. The facility was clean and neat. Their people were friendly, professional, and informative. I was actually invited into the work bays and shown how one of my calipers had frozen and was digging grooves into my still mounted rotor. They also found a leaky oil filter (that I had just had changed prior to taking the road trip) that had caused us to lose over 4qts of oil. There is absolutely no way my truck would have made it back to Maryland if they had not spotted this issue. Many thanks to the folks at Honest1!

The best service - They really listen and help!! It was Friday evening, after 5pm, and my key would not even turn in the ignition! The steering wheel was locked solid. No electrical power, yet I had just been driving with no problem at all. It was hot, my 6yo was with me. I contacted AAA right away, but it was going to be 2 hour wait. I was a little frantic, googled my problem, tried all the things recommended. Then as a last resort with little hope that I would find a service center still open, google showed Honest -1 was, and Jeff answered the phone. He patiently listened as I described how my steering wheel was locked, and my key wouldn't turn at all. He made a few suggestions, and the second one worked!! He didn't have to do this just before closing on a Friday night, but he did, and talked me through getting it to work. I will definitely be using them for any work I need in the future. What a great place, with a real sense of service!
